Meetings with the people behind the largest and the most expensive Scandinavian cinema production: Kon-Tiki.Professional secrets of the directors and producers, and the writer and the composer of the score, plus exceedingly interesting workshops in anthropology, panels with ethnographers and anthropologists, meetings for children, a special programme of the Krakow Zoological Garden, and last but not least an exhibition coorganised by the Kon-Tiki Museum in Oslo. As varied as extensive, we are announcing the programme of events accompanying the world premiere of the historical drama film Kon-Tiki with live music, prepared together with the Kosmorama Festival in w Trondheim that will inaugurate the 7th Film Music Festival in Krakow.

This year’s edition of the Film Music Festival will have some unforgettable treats for young music enthusiasts and their families. An incredible journey into the past, or the cult animated series of our parents’ times – Bolek i Lolek – will be performed by a symphony orchestra on 25th September by the Beethoven Academy Orchestra. And on the 28th of September we recommend the concert Young Way into the Classics, where you’ll hear stunning suites with film music by such masters as Wojciech Kilar, James Horner, Hans Zimmer, and James Newton Howard, performed by the FMF Youth Orchestra.

7th Annual Krakow Film Music Festival to Celebrate Composer Hans Zimmer

Krakow – 11 August 2014: Academy Award winning composer Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, Inception, The Dark Knight trilogy, The Lion King) will take part in the International Film Music Festival Gala, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the American Association of Composers, Authors and Producers (ASCAP), it was announced today. Zimmer will also perform during the finale of the Polish premiere of the suite from Inception, and will make a special appearance at the screening of Gladiator, which will be set to live music. The announcement of Zimmer rounds out the impressive list of celebrated musicians being honored at this year’s festival.
